Karachi: The authorities were left with astonishment on Monday when they discovered that a mini bus in Karachi was using ‘oxygen cylinders’ for CNG, apparently to safe a few rupees.
The discovery was made when a mini bus was found to be using the said cylinders, following which three more such buses were seized.
Police sources said that oxygen cylinders cannot bear the pressure of CNG but are preferable for bus drivers as each of them costs only Rs 5,000.
It merits mentioning here that a horrible accident occurred just yesterday when a cylinder fitted in a bus blew up on Abul Hassan Isfahani Road in the Gulshan Iqbal area of Karachi.
