New Delhi: International Olympic Committee (IOC) has strongly criticized the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for not allowing press photographers to cover Ahmadabad test match and said it was an attack on freedom of journalism.
IOC Press Chairman Kevan Gosper said that this act was tantamount to hitting over freedom of journalism and making spectators disappointed. “Photographers are also journalists and BCCI or any other organization has no right to stop them,” said Gosper.
Gosper demanded International Cricket Council (ICC) to resolve this matter on priority basis so that news agencies and news papers from across the world could cover the series.
International news organizations have boycotted coverage of the ongoing test over the decision of BCCI.
