Wazirabad: Pakistani law enforcement agencies Thursday apprehended four militants linked to al-Qaeda from Wazirabad, a district of Pakistan’s province Punjab and recovered loads of weapons, explosives, suicide-bombers’ vests, bomb-making paraphernalia.
According to sources, the militants were planning to target government offices, law enforcing personnel, and minorities.
According to intelligence sources, the alleged culprits, who were heavily armed, put up resistance after 12 hours before downing their weapons.
“The terrorists gave in after a fierce twelve-hour long engagement of with the lawmen”.
 Around 15 suicide-bomber vests, five landmines, 100 detonators, 800 kilos of explosives, 21 hand grenades, MP5 rifles, two Kalashnikovs, 26 magazines, 500 rounds, and 15 remote control devices were seized at the end of the whole ordeal.
