Washington: United States (US) on Monday designated Haqqani Network’s key militant and ‘chief of suicide operations’ Qari Zakir (also known as Abdul Rauf) as the most wanted terrorist.
According to U.S. State Dep[artment spokesperson Victoria Nuland, Qari Zakir, who is the supervisor of Haqqani Network’s suicide bombing group in Afghanistan, was added to the list of the global terrorists.
“Qari Zakir is responsible for the Pakistan-based militant group’s planning of suicide attacks and training fighters in the use of small arms, heavy weapons and explosive devices.”
The decision would restrict Americans from doing business with Zakir while all of his assets in U.S. would be freeze.
