Karachi: Saudi Airport Authorities imposed a fine of 60,000 Riyals on Pakistani private owned airline “Shaheen Air” as their flight got delayed by over 28 hours causing severe hardships to the pilgrims.
The officials of Shaheen Air said that the flight got delayed due to the unavailability of the aircraft, which had to arrive from Peshawar.
It may be mentioned here that there was no one at the Jeddah Airport to guide the pilgrims flying with Shaheen Air.
One such passenger said that they were lying helpless at the airport for the last 28 hours, and there was no one there to listen to their woes.
PIA has taken appreciable measures to assist the Pakistani pilgrims.
The Pakistan International Airline (PIA) post-Hajj operation is running smoothly dispatching eight flights daily.
The PIA post-Hajj operation was started on October 30, 2012 and would continue till November 30, 2012. PIA would fly 196 flights during this period to bring 96,000 pilgrims back to Pakistan.
