Islamabad: Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry Friday said that the hopes of people were rising on judiciary therefore it should work hard to transmit the benefits of independent judiciary to the masses.
Addressing a ceremony at Sargodha Bar Association, CJP Iftikhar said that the people should be provided with quick and easy justice.
Iftikhar Chaudhry said that that the previous governments were toppled after two or two and a half years, adding that the movement for the restoration of independent judiciary has proved that no martial law would be imposed in the country.
“Lawyers movement led to the restoration of the judiciary,” he said adding that the lawyers struggle had sent a message that neither martial law nor emergency would be imposed in the future.
