Islamabad: Pakistan’s Interior Minister Rehman Malik demanded the US to stop deadly drone strikes—infamous for killing allegedly more civilians than militants—and said the attacks were rendering Pakistan’s efforts to countering terrorism ineffective.
In an interview to a US-based television channel, Malik said that despite having all the resources, the United States was not making sufficient gains in Afghanistan.
About operation in North Waziristan, Malik said that operation was not a solution to the problem of militancy in any region in the country.
Of Malala Yousufzai, the minister said Pakistan’s people are praying for her full recovery.
He also said that the two attackers of Malala belonged to Afghanistan and came to Mingora with the help of a Swat resident named Ataullah.
