Islamabad: Hours after the Supreme Court of Pakistan orders, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority has decreased the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) by Rs 30.90 per Kilogramme.
According to a notification issued here on Tuesday, after the revision the price of per kilogramme CNG will be Rs 61.64 in region one, Pothohar and Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa, while in the region two, Punjab and Sindh, the new price will be Rs54.16.
The price change would be effective from midnight Thursday.
Earlier, the SC issued an interim order in a case about weekly pricing of CNG, declaring that linkage of CNG prices with those of other petroleum products is illegal.
The court said the CNG didn’t lie under the category of petroleum. The ruling was given by a two-judge bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and Justice Jawwad S. Khuwaja.
The SC ordered the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) to revise the price of CNG.
