Islamabad: Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan Sunday rejected the government’s idea of appointing Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) as the primary probing authority in Asghar Khan Case.
Addressing a press conference here at Punjab House in Islamabad, the opposition leader demanded the government to form an independent, impartial, and transparent commission to probe into the case
Going forward he raised the question as to why PML-N was being singled out in the case.
“Islami Jamhori Ittehad was an alliance of eight different political parties but why all the guns are pointed at PML-N”, the PML-N leader said.
Refusing to cooperate with FIA, Nisar said the controversy-smitten agency’s poor performance in the last four and a half years was written on the wall for everyone to see.
“We will only become a part of a nonpartisan investigative body”, said he.
“A trial will follow the investigation, whether someone’s guilty or not guilty will be proven only then, and before that I would advise that people should refrain from passing irresponsible remarks”, the leader said.
