Islamabad: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf Friday said that those who received money from establishment should apologise nation for their sin.
Giving a press briefing to media, PM Ashraf said that it was possible that the nation might forgive such criminals but they would not be able to escape from criminal proceedings.
“Supreme Court verdict on Asghar Khan Case is a milestone in Pakistan’s political history,” he said adding that finally the truth was revealed after 16 years.
“I assure nation that even single penny of the nation will be taken from all those people responsible for rigging the elections of 1990,” the PM said.
Ashraf said that slain PPP leader Benazir Bhutto had said that establishment stole the elections and now the face of the establishment was reveled after 16 year before the nation.
It is to be mentioned here that the Supreme Court of Pakistan ruled on Friday that election process was polluted through political meddling and the ISI and army chiefs, in personal capacity, indulged in politics illegally in 1990s.
It said an election cell was established in the President House in an attempt to manipulate election. The SC said that action could not be taken against those politicians who received money from the ISI without thorough investigation.
