Hyderabad: The ruling Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) held a huge public gathering in support of much criticized Sindh People’s Local Government Ordinance (SPLGO).
A large number of people from across the province attended the procession. The participants were holding PPP’s flags and chanting slogans.
The PPP leaders who attended the gathering were former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, Makhdoom Ameen Faheem information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira, Maula Bux Chandio, provincial ministers Agha Siraj Durrani, Sharjeel Memon, Sindh Assembly Speaker Nisar Khoro and others.
The PPP leaders criticized the Sindhi nationalists for their agitation against the SPLGO and alleged they were being patronized by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz chief and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
Bhutto is Sindh and Sindh is Bhutto, enemies of Bhutto are enemies of Sindh, said Chandrio while delivering speech during the rally.
Sharjeel Memon claimed that the PML-N workers were attacking the residences of PPP leaders in Sindh.
