Islamabad: The Senates Standing Committee on Law and Justice of Monday postponed its review of draft bill allowing dual nationality holders to contest election hold public office.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s Zafar Ali Shah suggested that political parties outside the parliament should also be taken on board prior to approve the bill. Leader of the House in the Senate Jahangir Badar supported the PML-N member of the commitee.
The committee decided that the opposition leader and other stake holders should be consulted.
The committee meeting was chaired by its chairman and PPP lawmaker Kazim Khan.
