Swat: Police and Investigation agencies have arrested the gatekeeper of Malala Yousafzai’s school and the driver of her van on Wednesday.
Malala, the child rights activist, was shot in head by Pakistani Taliban on Tuesday when she was going towards her home in the van from the school.
She was shifted to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Peshawar via helicopter where she successfully underwent three-hour long operation to remove the bullet.
Police have arrested several suspects including her van driver and the gatekeeper of her school in early morning.
Malala won international recognition for highlighting Taliban atrocities in Swat with a blog for the BBC three years ago, when the Islamist militants led by radical cleric Maulana Fazlullah burned girls’ schools and terrorised the valley.
She received the first-ever national peace award from the Pakistani government last year, and was nominated for the International Children’s Peace Prize by advocacy group KidsRights Foundation in 2011.
