Islamabad: Afghan President Hamid Karzai Wednesday condemned the attack on 14-year old peace activist Malala Yousafzai and said that the attack on Malala and her friends was a cowardly attack.
On Tuesday unidentified assailants attacked a school van carrying Malala Yousafzai and after identifying her shot bullets in her head. The 14 year old is in a critical condition. TTP Spokesman Ahsan Ullah Ahsan claimed responsibility for the attack and said that that it was the revenge for spreading secular propaganda.
According to presidential spokesman, Farhat Ullah Babar, the Afghan president contacted President Asif Ali Zardari via telephone and condemned the attack.
Both leaders agreed to fight against the mindset which had attacked Malala Yousafzai.
President Zardari said that the attackers will not be able to escape from punishment adding that Malala had given courage to others to steadfast against militants and extremists.
