Peshawar: At least five people were killed in a US drone strike in Mir Ali area of the North Waziristan agency, an area bordering Pakistan and Afghanistan, sources said on Tuesday.
According to the sources, the unmanned plane fired four missiles on a house in Harmuz area of Mir Ali, killing five people and injuring several others.
“More drones are still flying in the air making it difficult for the rescuers to save others.”
Attacks by an unmanned American aircraft are deeply unpopular in Pakistan, which says they violate its sovereignty and fan anti-US sentiment, but US officials are said to believe the attacks are too important to give up.
Recently, Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf carried out a peace march towards South Waziristan, protesting against the US drone attacks, which had killed several innocent people.
