Karachi: The dollar hit a record-high level against the rupee in the interbank on Friday when the greenback was traded at Rs 95.49.
The crude oil payments and purchase of dollar from market by the central bank has increased demand for dollar, dealers said.
The rupee weakened in the interbank market against the dollar, which was purchased at Rs 95.30 and sold at 95.60 in the open market.
