Kabul: An attack by an alleged insider killed a Nato soldier and a civilian contractor in eastern Afghanistan on Saturday.
Many Afghan army men were also killed in the attack, International Security Assistance Force (Isaf) said, without providing further details.
However, a police spokesman told a foreign news agency that two US officials and three Afghan army soldiers were killed and two other injured in the assault.
The deaths followed “a verbal dispute” during a joint operation in Sayedabad district of Wardak province west of Kabul, the provincial governor’s spokesman Shahidullah Shahid told AFP.
A probe into the incident is under way by Isaf and Afghanistan National Army.
