Colombo: Australia Women beat Pakistan Women by 25 runs on Duckworth-Lewis method on Saturday in their Group A match of ICC Women’s World Twenty20.
Australia, who opted to bat first after winning toss, finished at 146 for 5 in full 20 overs.
Australia’s middle order batswoman Jess Cameron was the top scorer with 42 runs and opening batswoman Alyssa Healy scored 36 in the match played at Galle International Stadium.
Pakistan’s Sadia Yousf took 2 wickets, and Asmavia Iqbal and skipper Sana Mir took 1 wicket each.
Pakistan opened their batting with quite a slow run rate and could run rate and could only make 38 runs in nine overs before rain interrupted the match.
One down batswoman Nida Dar added her share in Pakistan’s defeat, playing too slow to score only six runs off 32 balls.
Jess Cameron of Australia was awarded player of the match for her 42 runs off 28.
