New York: Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari Thursday met his Afghan counterpart Hamid Karzai in New York, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly meeting.
During the meeting, Zardari said that stable and flourishing Afghanistan was in the interest of Pakistan.
“Pakistan and Afghanistan share mutual problems,” he said adding that the both countries should strive hard to cope up with the problems.
Efforts for peace and stability in the region and other issues relating to mutual interests were also discussed between the two presidents.
President Zardari was assisted by Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar, advisor on petroleum and ambassador to US Sheery Rehman while on the other hand Afghan president was accompanied by Foreign Minister Zalmay Rassoul and Chairman Afghan High Peace Council Salahuddin Rabbani.
