Karachi: At least two people were shot dead in Surjani Town area of Karachi as targeted killings continued abettedĀ on Tuesday.
Police said that both the deceased were affiliated with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM). The police said that Riaz, committee member of the MQM, and another worker were gunned down in Unit 7-K in Surjani Town.
The assailants managed to flee after the killings. The bodies were taken to a nearby hospital for medical formalities.
Police patrolling in the area has been increased following the double murder. Panic gripped the area and business activities came to a halt after the incident.
Meanwhile, funeral prayer of four brother who were killed last nightĀ was offered at a local mosque. They were affiliated with the Ahl-e Sunnat Wal Jamat.
Speaking on the occasion, ASWJ Karachi chapter chief Maulana Aurangzeb Farooqui announced to hold a protest on Friday against the killing of his party workers.
