Islamabad: Pakistan’s Minister for Water and Power, Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar Monday refuted media reports claiming that his brother Ahmed Saeed would contest next election against PPP, saying that he would not contest in the next elections.
On Monday, Ch Ahmad Saeed, the elder brother of Ch Ahmad Mukhtar, joined the PML-N and reposed full confidence in the leadership of PML-N President Mian Nawaz Sharif, giving a new twist to the future electoral politics of Gujrat.
Sources said that the new development took place in order to convey the anger of Mukhtar’s family to top PPP leadership who announced to make alliance with Mukhtar’s political rivals, PML-Q leaders Chaudhry Shujaat and Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, in the next general elections.
Speaking to media, the minister said, “Although my brother has joined PML-N but he will not contest in the next general elections.”
Mukhtar said that he would neither leave his seat for anyone nor he would depart from PPP.
“My life and death is for PPP,” he said adding that he would contest the next general elections from the platform of PPP.
