Islamabad:The Election Commission of Pakistan on Monday held meeting under the chairmanship of Justice (retd) Fakhruddin G Ibrahim to review Supreme Court orders of disqualiying parliamentarians and members of Sindh and Punjab assemblies in dual nationalty case.
According to sources, the ECP decided to refer the cases of MPAs to concerning prvincial assemblies.
The sources further said that the majority of the ECP members were in favour of initiating criminal proceedings against Interior Minister Rehman Malik.
They said that the members suggested three-year imprisonment for Malik. The SC had disqualified the 11 lawmakers and refereed the case of Malik to the ECP.
