Quetta: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Thursday resumed hearing into Balochistan law and order case in the Quetta registry of the apex court.
Defence Secretary Lt. Gen (retd) Asif Yasin and Frontier Corps Inspector General Ubaidullah Khan Khattak appeared before a three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.
Some women representing Hazara community were also present in the court. Defence Secretary told the court that he was reviewing the cases of missing persons of Balochistan. The CJ said that the court could summon ISI chief.
Justice Jawwad S Khuwaja said that law and order situation was aggravating in the province despite the fact that 22 agencies were operating in Balochistan. Advocate general Balochistan said that only 4 agencies were operating under the provincial government.
The CJ asked whether the agencies had arrested foreign spies while Justice Arif Hussain Khilji remarked that all the agencies were sleeping.
Hazara women told the court that 708 people belong to the community had been killed since 1999. They alleged that murder suspects were being facilitated in jails.
