Peshawar: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), leader Arbab Khizer Hayat Khan said that PML-N would resist the proposed army operation in North Waziristan, northwestern tribal region bordering Afghanistan.
Talking to media here on Wednesday the PML-N leader said that US has been trying to hoodwink the people into believing that it wanted to uproot the so-called terrorists, but the reality of the matter was that the waning superpower was desperately trying to resuscitate its crumbling position in the comity of nations.
Khizer said his party has never been against the creation of new provinces in Pakistan vis-a-vis Seraiki, Hazara, and Bahawalpur etc.
PML-N believes that issue should be addressed in accordance with the Constitution, Khizer emphasized. He added that the provincial assemblies will have to approve demarcations of their boundaries. Only then the Parliament can take up the issue, he explained.
He regretted that the federal government constituted a commission in haste, which is contrary to the country’s constitution.
Khizer said his party tabled important resolutions in the parliament’s lower house during the last four years to strengthened democracy, and his party efforts received applauses from different quarters.
He claimed that if given chance, PML-N, would restart the development process in the country which was halted by a dictator.
