Islamabad: Awami National Party (ANP), the coalition partners of ruling Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), has rejected the increase in petroleum prices and advised the Prime Minister’s Adviser on Petroleum and Natural Resources Dr Asim Hussain to resign from his post.
Zahid Khan, the spokesman to ANP, said that his party had already moved an adjournment motion in senate against the hike in petroleum prices. He said that the weekly increase in the price was iniquity with the masses.
The spokesman said that Hussain should resign if he could not run the ministry, adding that the ministry should be given the any other responsible person.
He demanded the government the decrease the petroleum priced and threatened that they would launch a protest if the prices were not reduced.
