Multan: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader and ex-Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani Wednesday advised his successor Raja Pervez Ashraf not to appear before the Supreme Court in NRO implementation case.
Speaking to media representative at an Iftar-dinner in Multan, Gilani said that the apex court had not set right precedents in the past which is reflecting through current crises in the country.
“If the same dishonour has to happen with PM Ashraf then he should not appear before the Supreme Court,” he said.
The former premier said that he restored the judiciary through an executive order and the same judiciary disqualified him from the post of prime minister “unconstitutionally.”
Gilani sarcastically said that there is no need of elections as the judges want to govern the country.
“The PPP has fought against all dictators and were always successful, but today the judiciary has become a dictator,” he added.
The party stalwart said that he will protest against the judicial oppression in the country at all levels, adding that there will never be a stable Pakistan if incumbent Prime Minister Ashraf is sacked.
