Peshawar: The Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan (IMU), a militant group operationg in border areas of Pakistan, on Sunday claimed that their leader Usman Adil has been killed in a drone attack in North Waziristan, an area bordering Pakistan-Afghanistan .
In a statement posted on jihadi websites, the IMU said that Usman Adil was killed in a drone strike on North Waziristan in April, which killed four people.
The militant group’s claim was also confirmed by Pakistan’s intelligence agency official.
Speaking on the condition of anonymity, the official said that the death of Usman was an unbearable loss for IMU.
It is to be mentioned here that although Pakistan has demanded US to halt its drone strikes within the territory of Pakistan but the US drones had continued to hit the militants, attacking ISAF and Afghan forces inside Afghanistan.
