The studio behind The Dark Knight Rises, Warner Bros., has announced that it will donate substantially to the charities supporting the victims and families of Colorado shooting, but says it will not publicly release the total sum of donations.
Warner Bros. says it will contribute to funds to givingfirst.org, a branch of Colorado’s Community First Foundation, which will further trickle down the charity for the victims, Mashable reported, citing The Hollywood Reporter.
The shooting, which occurred at a midnight premiere of the Batman film,
Twelve people were killed and 58 injured in the July 20 shooting at a midnight premiere of the Batman film.
James Holmes is the suspect behind the incident and is facing trial.
Soon after the shooting, the Warner Bros. released a statement saying the studio “and the filmmakers are deeply saddened to learn about this shocking incident. We extend our sincere sympathies to the families and loved ones of the victims at this tragic time.”
