Hambantota: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has fined Indian cricket team for slow over rate against Sri Lanka in first One Day International (ODI) played at Hambantota on Saturday.
The ICC said in a statement on Sunday that India was one over short when the finishing time came in Saturday’s day-night match and Match Referee Chris Broad fined Indian captain M.S. Dhoni 20 per cent of his match fee and 10 percent from his teammates.
India won the match by 21 runs and went 1-0 up in the five-match series. The second match will also be played at Hambantota on Tuesday.
