Karachi: The Ruet-e-Hilal Committee meeting has begun in Karachi for the sighting of Ramadan crescent.
The meeting is chaired by its Chairman Mufti Muneebur Rehman and attended by its members(Ulema), belonging to various sects.
Zonal Ruet Hilal Committees are also meeting in their respective areas for moon sighting.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department has said that Ramadan crescent is likely to be sighted in coastal areas of Sindh and Balochistan.
It said there are chances of moon being seen 42 minutes after the sunset. The central Ruwet-e-Hilal Committee will collect evidences from different parts of the country.
The met office said moon sighting was unlikely in middle and upper parts of the country due to cloudy weather.
