Karachi: A 16-member delegation of Afghanistan International Bank along with State Bank of Pakistan officials visited Meezan Bank’s Head Office to gain in-depth understanding of Islamic Banking, and the bank’s products and services in Pakistan.
The delegation is in Pakistan for training at National Institute of Banking & Finance, a non-profit subsidiary of the State Bank of Pakistan.
Arshad Majeed, Group Head Operations Meezan Bank, discussed Islamic Banking products, services and operational structure of the bank. He briefed delegation on the bank’s historic growth over 10 years of its operations, a press release said Thursday.
Afghan bankers lauded effective operations which brought Meezan Bank to the position of having the ninth largest branch network in the country and playing key role in the growth and development of Islamic Banking.
They showed keen interest to learn from its expertise in Islamic Banking for promoting Shariah-compliant banking in Afghanistan.
