Lahore: The Lahore High Court on Saturday ordered protesting Young Doctors’ to resume duties in in-door and out-doors department of hospitals in Punjab from Sunday morning.
The court also issued stay orders against the show-cause notices issued against the doctors by the provincial government.
The doctors associated with the Young Doctor’s Association (YDA) have resumed work in emergency departments of the hospitals after LHC’s Friday orders .
The court has directed the government to stop harassing the doctors. The young doctors have been on strike, demanding service structure and increase in salaries.
The LHC remarked that there should also be a service structure for the doctors like other government employees.
A group of doctors chanted slogans in support of the judiciary following the hearing.
LHC Chief Justice Ijaz Chaudhry said that the court would review talks between the doctors and the government on Monday.
