Germany’s Sabine Lisicki on Monday defeated world number one Maria Sharapova, qualifying for quarter finals. She said defeating Sharapova is unbelievable.Sharapova had beaten Lisicki in the semi-finals at Wimbledon last year and had never lost to the German in three previous matches.
In the ninth game of the second set, Lisicki needed three match points before acing Sharapova on a second serve to win 6-4 6-3 and advance to the quarter-finals.
