Upper Dir: The Pakistan forces on Tuesday killed eight militants during a crackdown in Mamuzai area of Upper Dir region.
The forces shelled the hideouts of the militants in Upper Dir, killing eight militants near Afghan border, said a private television.
The operation case two days after militants from Afghanistan launched on Pakistani posts, killing six security officials in the same area. Seven paramilitary soldiers were beheaded on Monday.
Pakistan had lodged strong protest with the Afghan and Nato authorities and demanded action against militants. Pakistan warned of cross border raids on Afghan militants if Nato and Afghan forces failed to do so.
Islamabad also summoned Afghan envoy to lodge protest over the cross border raids. Pakistan said it had been repeating its demands of action against militants but to no avail.
