Islamabad: Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani met here on Friday and discussed the overall situation in the country, including energy shortage and law and order.
During the meeting here at the President House, the prime minister briefed the president about Pakistan’s participation in the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Gilani told the president that Pakistan would be represented by Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar and Minister for Climate Change Rana Muhammad Farooq.
The prime minister also briefed the president about the energy situation in the country.
The president complimented the prime minister, finance minister, coalition partners and the Parliament on the approval of the fifth budget by the National Assembly yesterday.
Law and order situation in various parts of the country was also discussed during the meeting.
