Islamabad: Expressing displeasure of the press conference of Inspector GeneralĀ Frontier Corps, Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhamamd Chaudhry has remarked that he would summon Chief of the Army Staff Gen Kayani over the issue.
The remarks came as a three-judge bench headed by the Chief Justice resumed hearing into a case pertaining to law and order situation and forced disappearances in Balochistan.
The CJ said as to why Ubaidullah Khattak (FC Chief) held press conference in army uniform. “We will summon Gen Kayani and ask is country could be ruled like this,” he said. Time has come to summon a bigwig. we will summonĀ Kayani tomorrow and ask what he could do”
The CJ said as to how one could blame foreign agencies for situation in Balochistan in the absence of any evidence. He said the government should take noticeĀ if the foreign agencies were involved.
It is to mention here that FC chief Major Gen Ubaidullah Khan Khattak had held a press conference shortly after appearing before the apex court and said 21 foreign agencies were operating in the province. He had also said that the a propaganda was being done against the paramilitary force (FC).
On Saturday, Justice Javed Iqbal, head of the commission on missing persons also reiterated that there were indication of foreign agencies’ involvement in missing persons issue.
