Islamabad: Senator Haji Adeel of the Awami National Party (ANP) has demanded that Pakistan Army’s budget should be cut by 10 per cent.
Speaking in the Senate on Wednesday, the ANP lawmaker said if the army could sacrifice lives then why it would not accept 10 percent cut in the budget. He said the amount should be spent on health.
Adeel said corruption could be eradicated from the country within 5 days if all the political parties were united.
He said killers in Karachi managed to escape the country unchecked.
It is to mention here that Haji Adeel belonged to a party (ANP), which was not allowed to do politics in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by Taliban militants while its chief Asfand Yar Wali Khan often remained in Dubai when Swat was ruled by the militants.
It was the Pakistan Army which eliminated terrorists from Swat. The battle against home grown insurgency took lives of more than 5000 soldiers.
Haji Adeel avoided to talk about the massive corruption carried out by ruling coalition, including the ANP.
