Peshawar: vehicle of senior Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bashir Bilour was attacked by a mob during a protest against loadshedding.
Clashes erupted between the demonstrators and police following the attack. According to reports, the minister remained safe in the attack.
Prolonged outages and government’s failure to overcome them stirred country-wide protests that now seem to be turning violent.
The Awami National Party, to whom Mr Bilour belongs, has been supporting the ruling Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) in every thin and think without keeping in view political implications. The ANP also supported Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, who has been defying the Supreme Court orders.
Political analysts say the ANP would have to face consequences for supporting the corrupt government.
