Karachi: Almost half of Karachi plunged into darkness when high transmission line developed a technical fault, leaving most parts of the city without electricity, late on Monday.
The areas of the city which were affected by breakdown of the electricity includes Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Jouhar, Nazimabad, Pehalwan Goth, Hassan Square, Jail Road, Gulshan-e-Maymar, Society, F.B.Area, CAA society, Malir, Gadap and other areas.
The Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) officials confirmed the breakdown and said that it all happened after a technical fault occurred in 14 grid stations out of 62 across the city.
“The KESC officials are working on the sites in order to restore the electric supply,” the officials said.
