Islamabad: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on Sunday said that Dr Shakeel Afridi, a CIA spy who helped them in locating al-Qaida Chief Osama Bin Laden, should be given access to higher courts.
The Prime Minister expressed these views in local channel’s program “Capital Talk” and said that although the action performed by Dr Afridi was unlawful but he should be presented in local courts of the country.
Responding to a question regarding dual nationality case, recently heard by Supreme Court, the PM Gilani said that there was no restriction in Pakistan’s constitution regarding the possession of dual nationality.
“Except the prime minister, all lawmakers in United States, United Kingdom and other European countries are allowed to hold dual nationality,” the PM said.
The Prime Minister further said that what would happen if the dual nationality of Lord Nazir would be suspended by UK.
Expressing his views regarding Nato supply, Gilani said that talks regarding the resumption of supplies were underway with US.
