Islamabad: National Assembly Dr Fehmida Mirza has decided not to send reference against Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani to Election Commission of Pakistan for his disqualification.
According to a five-page decision issued by the Speaker office, question of Prime Minister’s disqualification did not arise under Article-63(G).
The speaker also expressed reservations over the way Supreme Court’s Assistant Registrar conveyed her the short order into the contempt case against Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani.
The speaker in her ruling stated that she could not play a role of postbox and forward same reference which she received.
