Chicago: Pakistan has a vital role in transition of power and stability in Afghanistan, said a joint communique of Nato summit held in Chicago.
The statement noted that the Nato will continue extending cooperation for Afghanistan after 2014 troops withdrawal.
The 65-point statement said peace process that was discussed in Istanbul Conference would be advanced for stability in South Asia.
Leaders from 61 countries, including, US, Afghanistan and Pakistan attended the Nato summit to finalise the transition plan for Afghanistan.
The statement said the allies would provide funds to strengthen Afghan security forces.
It said that participation of women for the prosperity of the war torn country would be ensured.
