Islamabad: Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari on Friday left for US to participate in Chicago NATO Summit.
Moazzam Khan, spokesman of the foreign office said that the president would attend in the summit on May 20-21.
He said that Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar and Foreign Secretary Jalil Abbas Jilani were also with the president. “The president would also meet the leaders of other countries during his visit,” the spokesman added.
On last Friday, Nato Secretary Gen Andre Fohg Rasmussen said that Pakistan had not been invited to the Chicago summit but late he telephoned president Zardari and invited him to attend the conference.
It is to mention here that the Chicago Conference is considered a vital parley on Afghan conflict.
