Peshawar: At least two persons killed and 12 injured in a blast at famous GT Road Peshawar, the capital of North West province of KhyberPukhtoonkhwa.
“A local police van of Police Station Gul Bahar apparently targeting police personnel,” police authorities said.
Some prisoners were being shifted to Central Jail when the blast target the van, they added.
According to the officials, blast was a remote control blast aimed at creating panic in the convoy of prisoners.
In the incident, two auto rickshaws were also destroyed completely making squad of bomb disposal think that one of the rickshaws might have been used for the blast.
Just after the blast, police authorities cordoned off the GT road for the traffic for further investigations.
According to rescue services, at least four police personnel were also injured in the blast. All the injured persons were shifted to nearby Lady Reading Hospital for medical treatment.
