London: Pakistan and the United Kingdom on Thursday held strategic dialogue with Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and David Cameron leading the delegations of either side.
Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira, Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar were also present during the talks.
Both the sides discussed bilateral relations, issues of mutual interest with special focus on education, health, security and state.
After the talks a joint communique was issued. The statement said that both the sides agreed to increase the trade volume up to 250 billion pounds by 2015.
According to the communique, strategic dialogue that began in 2011 has stabilized.
The UK said: “Pakistan’s friends are our friends and Pakistan’s enemies are our enemies,”
According to the statement the UK said as many 100 British companies were operating and more should exploit the Pakistani market.
It said Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani was strengthening democracy in Pakistan.
