Islamabad: Pakistan on Thursday successfully test fired fires Hatf-III Ghaznavi missile, Inter Services Public Relation (ISPR) said.
The ISPR said in a statement that the test was launched during the annual exercise of Strategic Force Command from an undisclosed location.
“The Hatf-III is a short range missile and it is capable of carrying nuclear and conventional warheads.,” the ISPR said. “The missile has a range of 290 kilometers,” it added.
“Today’s launch was witnessed by Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff General Khalid Shameem Wynne and other senior military officers, scientists and engineers,” the statement added.
President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani congratulated all scientists and engineers on the successful launch, and the accuracy of the missile in reaching the target.
