Karachi: Pakistan’s Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Friday announced to suspend Lyari operation for 48 hours on humanitarian grounds.

“We have promise not to take any action for 48 hours,” he said adding that he would not leave Karachi until peace would return in the metropolitan.
The Interior minister said that those who were thinking that police retreated should know that he ordered police to move 500 yards back and after 48 hours action would be taken against all those who would not surrender.
“I will prove that 10 people would not hostage the people of Lyari,” he said.
Rehman Malik further requested Television Channels to avoid giving footages of criminals.
