Islamabad/Karachi: As the Pakistan Supreme Court indicted Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani in contempt case, President Zardari has summoned an emergency meeting at 2pm today.
Sources said that the president would soon leave for Islamabad from Karachi. They added that the attorney general, the PM and other key leaders of the Pakistan People’s Party would participate in the meeting.
Prime Minister Gilani while talking to a private television said that verdict against him was not appropriate.
Earlier, seven-member bench of the apex court headed by Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk convicted the prime minister for contempt of court for not writing letter to Swiss officials.
The court punished the prime minister till the rising of the court and convicted him according to Article 63-1G of the constitution.
