Hama: At least 16 people were killed after a powerful bomb blast in a residential area in the city of Hama, Syrian state news agency reported.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, an activist group, asked United Nations monitors to investigate the nasty episode. The group was not sure what had caused the blast.
Most activists groups of the crisis-stricken country thought the regime was behind the explosion which killed scores of people.
However, the official news agency said it was caused by anti-regime bomb-makers who mishandled explosives.
