Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League Quaid-E-AzamĀ (PML-Q) has launched its general election campaign, with hope of winning 70 to 80 seats of national assembly.
Party insiders say there is a strong chance to win 40 to 50 seats of national assembly including 4 to 7 from Baluchistan, 6 to 8 from Sindh , 8 to10 from KhyberPakhtoonKhwah (KPK) and others areas of Punjab Province.
The Party tickets would be given to those candidates who had succeeded in last general elections fromĀ different areas of Punjab including Sargodha, Chakwal, Gujrat, Mandi Baha-U-Din, Jhang and South Punjab for getting maximum seats in upcoming election
āIn the constituencies where PML-Q candidates lost in the last elections, the party has planned to win these seats by making seat adjustment with Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) the ruliing party of the country,ā the sources added.
Ā For this purpose PML-Q leaders Raja Basharat, Chaudhri Zaheer-U-Din and Senator Kamil Ali Aagha are visiting districts of Punjab.
Party Sources added that the partyās central leadership could seek Prime Ministersās port from PPP after providing help to make provincial government in Punjab and leaving Chief Ministerās seat for Peoples Party.
As an electoral strategy, PML-Q central leadership is also holding meetings with local political leaders, and Jamiat-e-Ulame Islam (JUI) Chief Maulana Fazl-Ur- Rehman to form a coalition KPK province.
About five months ago Pakistan president Asif Ali Zardari had offered PML-Q leader Chaudhri Pervez Elahi to become prime minister on his role in reconciliation between the president and Military on the Memo scandal issue; however PML-Q chief Chaudhri Shujaat had excused and said that their purpose was not to get premiership.
